My Google-fu skills might not be the best, but apparently Subeta used to have Oekaki boards? May I ask what happened to them and if there exists an official alternative, like a Drawpile server? I'd love to draw with folks on here, it could be fun!

I was on Sutaro Oekaki before it closed not too long ago. It introduced me to PaintChats back then.

With Java being funky and presenting security risks at some point it was harder to use those applets : you had to install a previous version of it and not all computers allowed this.

I guess it contributed to the decline of Oekaki boards but Drawpile is very very very in right now, most of Oekaki/PaintChat lovers must have moved there!

(You didn't ask for all of this but I felt very nostalgic all of a sudden!...)

I downloaded a software a year ago which has an icon of a ladybug, used it once with some friends made in a mobile game and never get to use it again. Before that I used to spot other ppl hosting online drawing events regularly, which was around 3 years ago, time went fast shrug

I'd love them to bring the Oekaki back tbh~ <3
